Central Nervous System Breakdown
Benefits of a 3 day weight lifting split when trying to lose weight
When you want to lose weight you have to eat less calories that means you will be in a calorific deficit,so to lose weight you eat less than your maintenance calorie.
Your maintenance calories approximately = Your body weight in Kg * 33
More about fat loss !
I am talking about people who love lifting weights, people for whom going to gym is just like brushing their teeth everyday and these people are self motivated to go to the gym no matter what. They pre-plan everything, they know which body part they are going to hit the next day how many reps and sets they will be doing the next day and also are super strict on their diets.
But after several months of heavy lifting and intense cardio sessions you slowly started losing the motivation, you started to take stimulants to get you fired up,you started watching YouTube videos to motivate and inspire you to go to the gym.You don't want to think about the gym,you are tired and you find it extremely difficult and exhaustive to lift even 20 pounds dumbbells,
Why is it so ??
I will try to explain it by talking about how a computer works.Your Central Nervous System is like the CPU of your body which makes sure that everything is working fine.It is this CNS that helps to self motivate and also makes you to think and concentrate properly.
Now when you are in a calorie deficit to lose weight consider your CPU has just 1 GB of ram to process all those software applications.
What happens when you open a lot of applications at once or what happens when you play a game that requires 2 GB of ram ?
The game runs fine for some time then the CPU gets heated up and then it starts lagging and then it freezes !
Now think of it like this way : When the CPU gets heated up you switch it off for some time to let it cool down so that after half an hour you can run the game smoothly again for some time.
The same way when you eat less calories and then you workout lifting heavy weights every day and not giving your body enough time to recover your CNS will shut down !
So for proper recovery of your CNS it is highly recommended that you train 3 days a week with a day off in between those weight lifting sessions so that your body can properly utilize those calories to recover your body.
A 3 day split will look like this ;
Monday : Chest and triceps
Tuesday : Core exercise and Slow Paced Cardio
Wednesday : Back and biceps
Thursday : Core exercise and Slow Paced Cardio
Friday: Legs and Shoulders
